Photo Gallery | Hook & Hastings Organ | Labyrinth The grounds at Covenant Church feature a labyrinth, an ancient spiritual tool that provides a path for a walking meditation. The path, built by the community, winds it way into the center of the circle, following a pattern copied from the Chartres Cathedral in France. The labyrinth can be experienced in many ways: you can walk it alone or in a group, playfully or meditatively. You can watch others walk, or simply enjoy the beauty of the spiraling design. Covenant offers regular labyrinth walks, and the labyrinth is always open. The labyrinth serves as a metaphor for the journey of life, or for the spiritual path. ![]() The labyrinth meets you where you are, and gives you what you need. You walk in, linger for awhile in the center, and then follow the same path back out. As you enter and follow the winding, twisting path, your mind quiets. Many people walk for just this purpose, for the quiet and peace that comes to them. Others walk in the hope of gaining insight into some aspect of their life, or as a prayer for healing. Sometimes people dance or skip along the paths in a joyful celebration. In fact there is no wrong way to walk the labyrinth, and everyone can do it. Covenant Church welcomes all to come and experience this powerful spiritual tool. |
