Covenant Church, an ecumenical, liberal, Baptist congregation in the heart of Houston's museum district, is a
group of inquirers, drawing on the sacred stories of the Christian tradition, the contemporary word, and
our own experiences. Our goal is to maintain an open and affirming atmosphere in which we welcome
questions, nourish children, and tread diverse paths on the journey of faith.
We invite you to visit us Sunday morning at 4949 Caroline Street:
Fall, Winter, Spring (Sunday after Labor Day through Memorial Day weekend)
8:30 a.m. Worship
9:40 a.m. Education for All Ages
10:30 a.m. Coffee and Fellowship
11:00 a.m. Worship
Summer (1st Sunday in June through Labor Day weekend)
9:00 a.m. Education for All Ages
10:00 a.m. Coffee and Fellowship
10:30 a.m. Worship
Membership in Covenant Church is open to all persons who affirm the loving presence of God, the life and teachings
of Jesus, and the revealed Spirit throughout the ages.
People interested in membership are invited to participate in an Inquirers Class, which meets for six to
eight weeks to discuss the history of the church, its theology and organizational structure. At the
conclusion of the class, the inquirer is invited to become a member of Covenant. Those who accept are
asked to participate in a welcoming litany during a Sunday worship service.
Covenant encourages new members who have not previously been baptized to symbolize their commitment by
enacting this ancient Christian ritual.
