Our Sacred Space
Covenant Church’s campus is more than a collection of buildings—it’s a thoughtfully designed sanctuary for worship, reflection, and community. Recognized with an Honor Award by the American Institute of Architects/Houston in 2002, our campus blends purpose, beauty, and functionality. The design by Appel and Rogers + Labarthe balances the practical needs of our congregation with the spiritual essence of a sacred space.
Our Campus Includes:

Sanctuary
A sunlit, inviting space for worship.

Labyrinth
A serene path for meditation and reflection.

Fellowship Hall
A welcoming venue for gatherings and events.

Child Care Rooms
Safe, nurturing spaces for our youngest members.

Library
A quiet haven for study and exploration.

Organ
A central feature for musical inspiration.

Color Garden
A vibrant space that attracts butterflies and uplifts passersby.

Vegetable Garden
A community effort to provide for those in need.

Baptistery
A place for meaningful spiritual milestones.
The sanctuary is the heart of our campus, featuring a barn door that connects it to the gathering space, allowing for flexible seating. Thoughtfully placed windows bathe the altar and pulpit in natural light, symbolizing the sacred connection between faith and the world around us.
“We were awestruck by the way this space welcomes light and life, creating a sanctuary that greets the community and the street.”
–Appel and Rogers + Labarthe, Architects
The Labyrinth
At Covenant Church, our labyrinth is more than a physical feature—it’s a spiritual tool that offers a path for reflection, healing, and discovery. Inspired by the renowned design of the Chartres Cathedral in France, our labyrinth invites all to experience its tranquil power.
The journey begins as you step onto the winding path. Walk meditatively, joyfully, or prayerfully; there’s no wrong way to walk the labyrinth. You can linger in the center, reflect, or simply enjoy the beauty of its spiraling design. It’s a space that meets you where you are, offering quiet peace or new insights.
Covenant offers regular guided walks, but the labyrinth is always open for personal use. We invite everyone—community members, passersby, and spiritual seekers—to explore this sacred space.
The Community Garden
Our community garden is a testament to Covenant’s commitment to service and sustainability. Lovingly maintained by members and volunteers, it not only enhances the beauty of our campus but also provides fresh produce for those in need. The harvest is donated to local organizations such as the Houston Area Women’s Center, helping to feed and support our community.
