Mission

An ecumenical liberal baptist congregation

Covenant Church is a group of inquirers, drawing on the sacred stories of the Christian tradition, the contemporary word, and our own experiences.

Our goal is to maintain an open and affirming atmosphere in which we welcome questions, nourish children, and tread diverse paths on the journey of faith.

We welcome persons of all racial and ethnic heritages, all sexual orientations, all gender identities, and all faith perspectives. We stand for each individual's right to worship God and to respond to God's call in his or her own understanding of God's love.

We exist to worship, to educate, to nurture, to witness, to share.

Covenant provides an affirming, open context—a theological sanctuary—in which to explore questions of the spirit.

Covenant empowers individuals to discover and live out their faith and vocation in the world.

Covenant calls itself and the world to share with those in need.

We call one another to embody hope, love, reconciliation, and creation in all circumstances.

Covenant nurtures the process of becoming in individuals and in relationships, and cares for their well-being.

We, as people of God, proclaim to one another and the world the things we affirm.

Covenant Affirms:

The sanctity, dignity, and equality of human beings and the value of all life in the universe.

Truth as an ongoing process, and the necessity to be explorers in the continuing discovery of faith and understanding.

The practice of inclusivity in worship and in all other aspects of our corporate life.

The importance of passing on our knowledge and an understanding of traditions.
