Adult Education
We seek to cultivate in participants a growth in learning, enabling them to better pay attention to God and to everything else in God's world, while responding to both.

Our Philosophy of Education
The aim of Covenant's adult education is to enable participants to articulate the ways the divine is operative in their own lives by drawing upon scripture, tradition, reason, conversation, study, and experience. Covenant's adult education programs reflects two statements by Jerome Bruner, an educational theorist: People can be trusted to learn what they need to, at the time they need it, in the manner best suited to their learning styles. By offering variety and choice in our programming, we hope to allow people to learn what they need when they need it. By offering structure, we hope to prepare minds for discovery. This ranges from book groups, to small-group Bible discussion, to speaker presentations on timely topics. Through these avenues, we aim to bind together the academic and the practical.

Sunday Morning Discussion Topics
Adult Education meets most Sundays from 9:30-10:20 a.m. in the classroom on the second floor of the Huff Fellowship Hall. Recent topics have ranged from Covenant's history to the importance of awe. All are welcome on any Sunday. Inquirer's Classes For visitors who'd like to learn more about Covenant and for those considering membership, Covenant holds a series of Inquirers' classes each year during the education hour. Each series of seven classes covers such topics as liberal Christianity, Baptist history and principles, and the history and structure of Covenant Church. Labyrinth Covenant Church's distinctive outdoor labyrinth invites anyone to a brief sojourn in walking meditation as a way of slowing down and becoming centered. In addition, there are group labyrinth walks scheduled throughout the year, often at the spring and fall equinoxes. Church Library Covenant's lending library contains books on Biblical studies, theology, spirituality, psychology, worship, church history, social issues, and environmental concerns, as well as literature. Church members and active participants in the congregation can check out books for a month. The library is located just a couple doors down the hall from the church narthex.
