Organist Position
Covenant Church Houston is seeking a part-time organist. Regular duties include leading hymns; accompanying the choir for two Sunday morning worship services through the school year and one during the summer months, as well as regular Thursday evening choir rehearsals and occasional extra rehearsals; and providing a prelude, offertory, and postlude. The choir does not rehearse over the summer. We have Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Good Friday services, but occasionally other services as well. The congregation has a strong appreciation of good organ music, and sits and listens to the postlude before leaving the service. We are seeking a candidate with a degree in organ, preferably a Master’s degree, and 5 years of experience. The successful candidate will be accomplished with a wide variety of organ literature, will be a strong, creative hymn player, and an accomplished accompanist for choir, smaller ensembles, soloists, and instrumentalists. The position also requires good interpersonal, collaborative and organizational skills. Resume and references should be sent to
