A little bit about our church committees...

- Our committees meet once a month, directly after the 2nd worship service on the 2nd Sunday of the month.
- Committee members serve for a 3 year term.
- Committees are currently meetings in the Lifeline Chaplaincy building.
- One committee is responsible for lunch each month.
Adult Education Committee works to enable participants to articulate the ways the divine is operative in their own lives by drawing upon scripture, tradition, reason, conversation, study, and experience (from Adult Education brochure).
Retreat Planning is a sub-committee to Adult Education and is responsible for planning and implementing each year’s spring all-church retreat. Children and Youth Committee works to create an environment where our children can experience the loving presence of the DivineGod. Members plan church events for children and youth, help choose curriculum, liaise with other committees, and provide additional support to the Director of Children & Youth. and begin to learn about our spiritual traditions through stories, crafts, and songs (from the Children and youth brochure). Facilities Committee is responsible for the ongoing operation, maintenance, repair, acquisition, modifications, storage, inventory, insurance, security and budgeting for all facilities, grounds, equipment, supplies, furniture, furnishings and contracts, which are a part of the building and grounds. |
Hospitality Committee coordinates refreshments during Sunday fellowship and at other specified Church functions.
Missions Committee develops, recommends, and, upon Church approval, coordinates the social-justice activities of the Church. Outreach Committee members create an outward facing program of outreach in order to offer others an invitation into the fellowship of Covenant. Further Members, it promotes and coordinates outreach activities throughout the Church, including the work of existing committees. And acts as an advocate for potential and newer members. The committee makes advertising decisions. Pride Parade Committee is a sub-committee of Outreach dedicated to planning and implementing the parade in June. Worship Committee assists the Ministers in planning the worship service and to promotes the worship of God through the arts. Ushers is a sub-committee to Worship and is responsible for fulfilling the ushering duties at each worship service. Labyrinth is a sub- committee to Worship and is responsible for programming for our labyrinth. |
