Helping the Homeless of Houston

Our Youth Group will continue creating bags full of items necessary for daily living to be handed out to Houston's needy homeless. The easiest way to help is to donate money so we can buy the items. Below is a list of what we fit in each bag. This is an easy project to do at home too!

**One bag costs about $15 to create.**
  • Donations of money or things from out list can be given to Jodi Bash, Director of Children & Youth at any time.
  • There will also be a donation box on the table in the Narthex to drop your contribution in at any time.

The following items go into our bags for the homeless:
  • 8oz water bottles
  • Small plastic cup (reusable)
  • energy bar (Cliff bar)
  • canned meat, small
  • canned fruit, small
  • adults socks, 1 pair
  • comb
  • soap bar
  • ​small lotion
  • pack of playing cards
  • chapstick
  • 2-4 band aids
  • ​disposable razor
  • handi wipes, small pack
  • small toothbrush
  • travel size toothpaste
  • travel size shampoo
  • 2-3 feminine pads
  • a nail file
  • a hair band
  • breath mints
  • ​a pen
  • zip lock bags (gallon size) - you can also use plastic grocery bags.
